"The most significant was the first non-stop crossing of the Atlantic Ocean by Alcock and Brown in June 1919 (their aircraft is preserved in the London Science Museum);[22] This Vimy had been specially constructed to perform the flight, having been outfitted with additional fuel tanks in order to extend its range.
